Date Started on YouTube: May 1, 2015
Channel Description:
We started Fresh Off the Grid in 2015 as a cooking resource for outdoor enthusiasts. At the time, we were preparing to embark on a year-long road trip but found ourselves struggling to reconcile our love for cooking with a life outdoors. Most home recipes were too complicated to be made at a campsite, while most camping recipes were too unhealthy to eat for anything more than a few days. So we started documenting our attempts to make healthy, nutritious meals under the constraints of a camping environment. Fresh Off the Grid now features an assortment of easy-to-prepare recipes, helpful how-to guides, and an abundance of outdoor inspiration. Whether you’re a car camper, backpacker, vanlifer, boater, or cabin dweller, Fresh Off the Grid is your place to discover a better way to eat in the great outdoors.

Subscribers: 37,000+
Uploads: 43+
Date Started on YouTube: February 1, 2015
Channel Description:
My passion for the outdoors started when I went on my first kayaking day trip in 2008. I was hooked! I found a used kayak on craigslist that very night and was back on the water the next weekend. Kayak day trips soon turned to overnight trips, and not long after that, I was dragging my buddies into taking 3 and 4-day long kayaking excursions. After logging about 350 miles on our kayaks, we decided it was time to give our arms a break and try backpacking instead. Backpacking has been my go-to escape from the daily life chaos ever since.
I graduated in May 2021 with a bachelor’s in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Before going back to school for engineering, I was a freelance video producer for 8 years where I worked with everyone from small businesses to Fortune 100 companies. I’ve combined my engineering education, video production experience, and love of the outdoors to produce what you now know as GearTest Outdoors.

Uploads: 658+
Date Started on YouTube: January 6, 2015
Channel Description:
As the PaleoHikerMD channel has grown, my ideas about it have changed. In the end our channel is about a lifestyle. Being outdoors as much as we can whether it be hiking, backpacking, canoeing, etc…traveling as a family…finding geocaches along the way…all along home schooling our kids in an effort to make life and history come alive instead of just being on the pages of a textbook. Want gear reviews?…well we do those too! Self-Reliance is also big in our family, and on our channel you will find plenty of content detailing survival, bushcraft, and preparedness. Lastly, but certainly not least, we will bring you along on our continued journey into the Paleo Lifestyle. Your health is not what you inherit, it is what you make of it with effort and real change!

Date Started on YouTube: September 13, 2017
Channel Description:
This channel is mainly bushcraft style camping trips, sometimes I build a natural shelter, sometimes I sleep in a tent, under a tarp, or in the snow.
YouTube: Joe Robinet
I try to show the realities of being out in the bush, weather it be an overnighter in the woods, or an extended, 10 day fly in canoe/fishing trip. I’ll leave in my failures, as well as my accomplishments, in an effort to show you who I really am, just a regular Canadian guy who enjoys spending time outdoors. I’m not a survivalist, and my definition of “bushcraft” may differ from yours. 🙂
